GROW: Welcome to 2026: Let’s Move

A new year. A clear vision. A community in motion.

Welcome Back, G-Tribe

Welcome to the G-Tribe — our Growth Tribe.
It’s the community of parents, mentors, and young men committed to growing every week through guidance, leadership, and real-life lessons.

G.R.O.W. stands for Guidance Redefines Our Way.
It’s the weekly newsletter from A Few Good MENtors, Inc., created to support boys, families, and mentors with structure, clarity, and consistent direction.

If you’re new, you’re joining a community that believes growth doesn’t happen by accident.
It happens when people show up, stay consistent, and move with purpose.

January also marks National Mentoring Month — a reminder that mentorship changes lives when it’s intentional, consistent, and rooted in trust.

This is the first G.R.O.W. issue of 2026.
And the movement has officially begun.

Growth Spotlight: The Year of Movement and Momentum

Growth Spotlight: The Year of Movement and Momentum

We are stepping into 2026 with clarity.

2026 is the Year of Movement and Momentum.

That means:

  • Less waiting

  • More doing

  • Clear expectations

  • Consistent action

Movement is not chaos.
Momentum is not noise.

It’s steady progress built through discipline, structure, and follow-through.

For boys, that looks like:

  • Showing up to mentoring sessions

  • Building habits

  • Learning accountability

For mentors, it means:

  • Commitment

  • Preparation

  • Leading by example

For families and communities, it means:

  • Partnership

  • Support

  • Shared responsibility

This is how growth takes root.

What’s New in 2026

This year introduces intentional growth across AFGM:

  • Echoes of Freedom Tour 2026
An educational experience connecting young people and families to African American history, resilience, and local impact.

  • The AFGM Connect App
A centralized platform designed to strengthen communication and engagement across our mentoring community.

  • A Stronger Hybrid Mentoring Model
Combining virtual consistency with in-person connection to meet families where they are.

  • New Mentor Recruitment Tools
Clear pathways for men who want to serve with structure, training, and support.

  • More Community Events
Opportunities for families, mentors, and partners to engage throughout the year.

This is growth with intention, not expansion for show.

“Energy, encouragement, and consistency is what sets us apart.”

President/Founder Michael Morgan

Michael’s Hot Take: “National Mentoring Month Is Not a Slogan — It’s a Responsibility”

January is National Mentoring Month.

That’s not just a calendar designation.
It’s a reminder.

Mentorship works when it’s consistent.
When it’s disciplined.
When it’s treated as a responsibility, not a hobby.

And that’s why this year matters.

2026 isn’t just another year.
It’s a turning point.

For A Few Good MENtors.
For the boys we serve.
For the men guiding them.
For our communities.

We’re raising the bar in 2026.
Not with words — with standards.

We’re raising the bar on:

  • Faith

  • Discipline

  • Health

  • Leadership

  • Academic strength

  • Identity

  • Responsibility

That kind of growth doesn’t happen by accident.

It happens when people decide to move.

I’m asking you to walk into this year with intention.
With purpose.
With clarity.

Not drifting.
Not reacting.
Not waiting for the “right time.”

Bring someone with you.

A son.
A nephew.
A friend.
A neighbor.
A coworker.

Mentorship multiplies when it’s shared.

G.R.O.W. will be your weekly guide.
Not hype.
Not fluff.
Real guidance for real life.

And I’ll be right here walking with you.

Let’s build something the next generation can stand on.
